Wal-Mart's order online, pick up instore strategy is getting popular
Wal-Mart's customers can shop online and then go to their local store to pick up their merchandise, in the company's Site to Store initiative which started last month. Using this service, there is no fee for shipping and handling for the customers, who are informed via email once the merchandise has reached the local store and is ready for pickup. This service is especially handy for buying products that are only available online. Several other companies such as Circuit City, Best Buy and Sears have similar systems of ordering online and picking up in their stores.
