Anti Wal-Mart campaigner Wade Rathke to mobilize farmers

The Wal-Mart saga continues on, with the retailer busy working on getting the stores started as soon as the agreement is formalized and protesters popping up in every second city. Interestingly, no average consumer has protested the entry of the world's largest retailer, it is only those with their own interests such as competitors who are actually behind the protests. Wade Rathke has come to India to muster up some support for the anti-Wal-Mart campaign and will be creating a protest using farmers and their losses that happen due to Wal-Mart. Regarding his campaign he said “Our campaign in India will be centred around farmers, and leading farmer associations across India have already joined hands with us. We will conduct awareness programmes at grassroot levels so that farmers don’t sell directly to any of these companies.”
