Starbucks still waits for its approval

Starbucks was meant to already be here, but is still waiting the result of its proposal for entry into the country to the government. The application was filed with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) December 2006. Interestingly, Vodafone's proposal is also along the same lines and Starbucks is looking to see what the verdict is in the Vodafone proposal. Starbucks has reportedly tied up with Kishore Biyani's Future Group as well as its Indonesian franchise owner VP Sharma, although no confirmations have been made by the company.
