Switch stuff

Social networking and trading sites are all the rage these days and here is an interesting addition. It's called SwitchPlanet.com and its all about trading DVDs, audio CDs, games and books. Signing up is free at SwitchPlanet which is currently in beta testing phase. Once you are a member, you can set your profile and list items that you are interested in trading and that's pretty much it. You can also get advice from friends and forum members on what to trade and how to trade goods.

Since there is no cost associated either with being a member or for the products, members don't have any ulterior motive such as money to push products. How it works is that all members are given internal currency called Switchbucs that are used to make trades. There's lots of great information all about how the system works on the FAQ page. All in all it seems like a good concept. I am yet to try it out since most of the Switches are located in the US only and am looking for anyone who already has, to give me how they found using it. We have tons of DVDs and CDs that we should trade with new stuff, rather than just holding on to them and not watching them. The above post was a sponsored review.
