Weekend workshops are a great favorite in our company. They are not really 'work' as such, since all employees get a free stay at a retreat and spend only about 4 hours taking part in a team building workshop. Initially, we used to take our own equipment for these workshops, since most employees are pretty computer savvy, but after a couple of serious glitches, the company decided to outsource this job to the professionals. So now, we have a company who takes care of all our laptop rentals so we can just show up and have fun, and yes do a bit of work too!!
Companies that provide business equipment are really booming, especially the good ones, like Innovative Rental which has firmly established itself as a leader in laptop rentals. Since we have a lot of designers they prefer using MacBook Pro rentals, while the accounts and other department folk go for Tablet PC rentals. So, everyone is happy and the workshop ends up being a success!
