On communicating
Growing up in boarding school; writing letters and sending greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries and other major occasions became an important way to be connected. In prep school, it was compulsory to write at least one letter home each week, and the habit remained for a long time even after it wasn't required, especially during college years in the US, before internet had become the norm. Having an address label gave the letter added authority and weight and even though I moved apartments in college quite a bit (four in four years of college) I loved to get new and unique address labels made after each move. Now with the great graphic design and printer technology available, it is even possible to make free address labels by yourself. I think, its time for me to invest in some new address labels too.
