Which plasma TV to buy?

We're almost done with all our shopping for the house now. It seems like there is just so much to buy and each time, we think we're done, we find there is something else to be bought. One item on your list that is still pending is a flat screen television for the bedroom. We've been looking around for quite some time now to find the best deal as well as the best brand and we've zeroed in on the Pioneer PDP-6070HD, which is one of the very best plasma televisions there are.

With technology changing so fast these days, it's hard to keep up with which products one should buy or just wait a bit for a new version to come out. The Pioneer Pure Vision plasma televisions are in a class of their own and use the very latest of technology, so that the audio and video quality are better than any other brand or model. I can't wait to get ours and start to enjoy this brilliant piece of technology.

Thats a good, in fact great choice, not to mention expensive!

Like most tech decisions this could be a confounding one as well. Of the two options available 1080p(your choice) is better than 1080i/720p, but in today's world there is very little software that plays on 1080p. The HDTV channels are mostly 720p.

The only way you could leverage 1080p is by buying either HD-DVD or Blu Ray players and then buying / renting DVDs accordingly. The costs of enjoying what you bought only grows.

Which of the two Blu-Ray or HD--DVD should you invest in is another topic with no easy/cost effective choices.

How I wish these decisions were not so tough to make

I'm glad we're heading in the right direction on this! Thanks for your input and sorry for taking so long to post it. I've been super busy with the wedding functions.
